Managing and architecting an extremely large database landscape (1,800+ SQL instances, 15,000+ databases) for major regional banks.

  • Many of the powershelldba tools were built directly out of this role.
  • Designed and implemented an automated install and patch-management strategy for standalone and AlwaysOn clusters.
  • Played a key role in migrating the systems into the Finance Cloud, building the automation scripts for cloud installs.
  • Built a custom SQL monitoring solution with a web UI for proactive performance monitoring.
  • Ran performance analyses and trained developers on query and database-design optimization.

  • Led the consolidation of the server landscape and introduced AlwaysOn availability groups to increase resilience.
  • Owned the technical design of the web presence (backend, web services) and the database design for the point-of-sale system.
  • Migrated an Oracle database to Microsoft SQL Server; implemented Change Data Capture (CDC) for data exchange.
  • Connected Microsoft Dynamics to the existing system landscape.

  • Implemented risk-management modules (Market Value at Risk, Hatch Accounting).
