WinForms GUI Show-sqmOlaBackupGui in the Visual Studio dark theme of the other tools: all 75 parameters of dbo.DatabaseBackup (Ola Hallengren release 2026-06-29) in nine categories with a navigation list like the Visual Studio options dialog, help text and tooltip per field, set parameters highlighted and counted per category. Only parameters you set are written. Pickers for databases and availability groups, folder picker, token menu for directory and file name patterns. Presets for user databases FULL / DIFF / LOG, system databases, ad-hoc COPY_ONLY, striping and tuning, dry run.
Output as T-SQL, sqlcmd in the style of Ola's CmdExec steps, PowerShell with Invoke-DbaQuery, or a complete SQL Agent job script with daily, weekly or interval schedule and output file; an existing job is never overwritten. VS-style syntax highlighting. Test-sqmOlaBackupParameter checks more than 100 rules from the procedure's parameter block live, double-click jumps to the field.
Optional connection through System.Data.SqlClient: databases, availability groups, certificates, asymmetric keys, credentials, installed Ola version; dry run with @Execute = 'N' and job creation after confirmation. New-sqmOlaBackupCommand generates without a connection. Configuration saved and loaded as JSON (without @EncryptionKey). Tests passed under Windows PowerShell 5.1 and PowerShell 7, including a comparison with MaintenanceSolution.sql and a live dry run against SQL Server 2025.
